2025 GMBA Corn Hole Tournament Recap
December 8, 2025

Last Saturday, November 29th, the Governor Mifflin Baseball Association (GMBA) hosted its much-anticipated Corn Hole Tournament at Schaylor Brewing Company. The event brought together players, supporters, and community members for an unforgettable day of friendly competition, camaraderie, and fun. A total of 20 teams entered the double-elimination tournament, each bringing their best strategy and skill to the boards.

Team Schmehl X2 emerged as the dominant force early in the tournament, going undefeated through every single round to secure their place in the championship match. However, the road to glory wasn’t without its challenges. Team Mummies, who clawed their way out of the losers’ bracket, earned the right to face Schmehl X2 in the final showdown. The championship match was nothing short of dramatic.
In the opening game of the finals, Team Mummies handed Schmehl X2 their first loss of the day, proving that they weren’t going to back down easily. With everything on the line in the winner-take-all game, the two teams delivered an intense and thrilling match. In the 39th round of the tournament, Team Schmehl X2 pulled off the ultimate victory, cementing their place as champions.

For their dominant performance, Team Schmehl X2 claimed the championship prize: a custom set of GMBA-themed corn hole boards. Along with the boards, they secured a $50 gift card to Schaylor Brewing Company, a fitting reward for their unmatched skill and determination.
But the day wasn’t just about the champions. Many attendees went home with raffle baskets, filled with swag and gifts donated by local business that added to the dynamic of the event. Top prizez included a Schaylor gift basket, a bourbon and Yeti basket, and a membership basket to Retro Fitness. Two lucky participants also emerged as winners in the silent auctions, securing golf packages from LedgeRock and Moselem Springs. These prizes added an extra layer of excitement and ensured that everyone felt like a winner, whether on or off the boards.

Beyond the competition, the tournament served as an opportunity for our baseball community to come together and enjoy a day of connection and celebration. Schaylor Brewing Company provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere, along with a menu of delicious food and refreshing drinks that kept everyone fueled throughout the event. Attendees cheered on the players, caught up with friends and former teammates, and shared laughter, creating a sense of unity that defined the day.
The energy was infectious, and the tournament was a reminder of the power of the Mifflin Baseball tradition. It wasn’t just about the competition—it was about the bonds formed and the memories made, which will undoubtedly carry forward into future GMBA events.
The success of the event extended far beyond the boards. Thanks to the incredible efforts of participants, donors, and sponsors, the tournament raised over $2,500 for the Governor Mifflin Baseball Association. These funds will go directly toward supporting GMBA initatives, helping to provide support and opportunities for our team and alumni.
The overwhelming generosity of everyone involved is a testament to the strength of our baseball community and the shared commitment to supporting Governor Mifflin Baseball. On behalf of the GMBA Board, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the event’s success.
As we reflect on the day, we are filled with gratitude for the participants, spectators, and volunteers who made the tournament possible. A special thank you goes to Schaylor Brewing Company for their hospitality and support, which played a key role in creating such a memorable experience.
We look forward to seeing you all again at next year’s GMBA Corn Hole Tournament, where we’ll come together once more for another day of excitement, competition, and baseball spirit!
